They wont tell you this but the flu vaccines are only about
5% effective if that. My "Doctor" gave himself the shot last
year and his office was closed for two weeks while he recovered from a
really bad dose of flu. Also there are many strains floating round and
the flu shot is supposed to guard against what they think is going to be
the most prevalent, usually incorrectly. Now read how the government
is going to waste your tax dollars to aid the poor suffering deprived vaccine
manufacturers. Wonder who is getting paid and how much for this crap
just to get you loaded with useless poisonous toxins including formaldehyde
and mercury. Why risk killing or permanently injuring your children for
the vaccine companies to make a fortune.

The Flu Season Campaign Begins
The following article is an article in the Online Vaccine Conference at Redflagsdaily.com. As
predictable as the return of yellow school buses and Monday Night Football,
the arrival of fall also brings the first fearful chatter about the approaching
flu season. But this year, there is a twist: The Centers for Disease Control
(CDC) has devised a portentous new blueprint to ensure the economic success
of this season's flu vaccine.
Concerned over data documenting that almost 65 percent of the people surveyed
in 2003 did not receive the flu shot -- including nearly 47 percent with
chronic illnesses and 78 percent of children ranging in age from 6-23 months
-- a new strategy has been devised. The plan was fully disclosed in the
51-slide communiqué, "Planning for the 2004-05 Influenza Vaccination
Season: A Communication Situation Analysis," prepared by Glen Nowak,
Ph.D., associate director for communications at the National Immunization
Program.
The most important part of the program, "The Seven-Step Recipe for
Generating Interest in, and Demand for, Flu (or any other) Vaccination,"
is designed to methodically manipulate the general public.
Language within the presentation reveals the intent of the government and
their drug company "partners" to use major news media (newswires,
TV) to send scheduled, fear-based messages in an attempt to convince the
unsuspecting public that not only is the flu shot necessary, but to motivate
them to demand it. This will amount to millions of dollars of free advertising
for flu vaccine manufacturers.
A Synopsis of the CDC plan
Step 1: Start discussing the flu
at the beginning of the "immunization season."
Posters, fliers and media campaign materials are generally mailed to public
health departments and healthcare provider offices in mid-August, "planting
the seeds" in the minds of patients so that they request the flu vaccine
when it arrives.
Step 2: The media will begin to make pronouncements that the "new"
influenza strains anticipated this year "will be associated with severe
illness and serious outcomes."
Right on cue, the government announced on Aug. 25, that it is "preparing
for world's next big flu outbreak." A report released to the Associated
Press suggests that a bad flu season could kill up to 207,000 Americans.
To fuel the hysteria, the CDC and Department of Human Services announced
that they are issuing a joint "Pandemic Influenza Response and Preparedness
Plan" which will stress "ways to speed up vaccine production,
limit the spread of a super-flu, and care for the ill."
Step 3: The buildup will continue through the early fall, as local
and national "medical experts and public health authorities publicly
(e.g., via media) state concern and alarm (by predicting dire outcomes)
-- and urge influenza vaccination."
Here's one example: "We know we're going to have a pandemic because,
historically, we're overdue for one," said Neil Pascoe, epidemiologist
in the infectious disease division of the Texas Department of Health. "When
it happens, it's going to be huge. It will be global, and everyone is going
to be affected ... it could be terribly fatal. Imagine 4 million Texans
[becoming] infected, and 20 percent of them die."
Be prepared for many similar statements in major newspapers and on national
TV stations as the weeks progress.
Step 4: Reports from medical experts will be used to "frame
the flu season in terms [that will] motivate behavior." Language to
be used will include "very severe," "more severe than last
or past years" and "deadly."
Last year, there were 1,026 messages sent via the media between September
21-28. Some of the phrases the media used included, "This could be
the worst flu season ever," "The flu kills 36,000 people per
year" and "The flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu."
Even though less than 175 people actually died from influenza in 2003,
anticipate exponentially more messages regarding the "deadly flu"
will be pushed through the news media this year.
Step 5: Continue to release reports from health officials through
the media that influenza is causing severe illness and/or affecting lots
of people "helping to foster the perception that many people are susceptible
to a bad case of influenza."
Step 6: Give visible, tangible examples of the seriousness of influenza
by showing pictures of ill children and affected families who are willing
to come forward with their stories. "Show pictures of people being
vaccinated, the first to motivate, the latter to reinforce."
Step 7: List references to, and have discussions regarding, the
influenza pandemic. "Make continued reference to the importance of
vaccination."
The language used to describe Steps 5, 6, and 7 was taken directly from
Nowak's presentation. This should leave little doubt the government intends
to use the media to create hysteria that will increase the demand for a
pharmaceutical product.
Vaccine manufacturers often cry the blues about revenues lost by producing
vaccines. However, last year, Chiron, one of the two largest vaccine manufacturers,
made 38 million flu shots, accounting for nearly $230 million in revenue.
And even though sales of FluMist, the intranasal flu vaccine, reportedly
"failed miserably," the company still marked $33 million in revenues
from sales of the product. Not exactly the stellar returns MedImmune had
hoped for, but clearly revenues were made.
Health officials are expecting that, through the publicity generated by
last year's flu hype, coupled with a carefully planned and implemented
new strategy, record numbers will seek vaccination this year. Perhaps,
understanding the tactical maneuvers of the "CDC-Big Pharma-Media"
partnership will result in another "bust" year for the flu vaccines.

Note from JTL. Since this was written they have managed the epitome of scare tactics when the English supplier of half of the vaccines was shut down. Bea in mind that Americans always have been a panicky bunch as totally predictable people are running terrified. My Quack (Doctor?) told me yesterday (19 October 2K4) that he had had one American couple prepared to pay U$300 each for a flu shot. In Ontario our misguided government is pissing millions of dollars down the drain paying for every Ontarian to get a free flu shot. This is one who isn’t going to get it. In the building where I live there are 113 suites. In the last five years since I started checking I appear to be the only one that does not get any shots and the only one not to get flu and I am “high risk” being a kid of 76. So far as I can ascertain everyone else gets the shots and gets flu. Yesterday he asked me if I wanted it and was not surprised when he got a very blunt and pointed reply.
This crap is only about 5% effective, if that, and flu only kills roughly 1000 people a year, not 36,000. The whole thing is a fraud from start to finish perpetrated by the pharmaceutical industry with the collusion of the respective governments.

Dr. Mercola's Comment:I find it almost incomprehensible that thimerosal, the well-documented, toxic mercury-containing preservative, is still in many vaccines, years after federal agencies have mandated that it be removed from vaccines. Most people, physicians included, don't understand thimerosal is still used in most vaccines and is likely one of the major contributing factors to vaccine toxicity.Mercury is a potent neurotoxin. Injecting it into a child, whose nervous system is rapidly developing, could have terrible consequences. So, before you decide to vaccinate your children, do them a favor and look into the many risks and side effects associated with common childhood vaccines. When my colleague and regular columnist, Dr. Russell Blaylock, forwarded me his latest manuscript, I was shocked and dismayed to read his review of a secret 2000 meeting between CDC officials and scientists about the use of thimerosal. I believe you will be too which is why I posted his entire manuscript. Be sure to read the entire fascinating story.
THE DEVASTATING EFFECTS OF MERCURY

For example, mercury, even in low concentrations, is known to impair energy production by mitochondrial enzymes. The brain has one of the highest metabolic rates of any organ and impairment of its energy supply, especially during development, can have devastating consequences. In addition, mercury, even in lower concentrations, is known to damage DNA and impair DNA repair enzymes, which again, plays a vital role in brain development.
Mercury is known to impair neurotubule stability, even in very low concentrations. Neurotubules are absolutely essential to normal brain cell function. Mercury activates microglial cells, which increases excitotoxicity and brain free radical production as well as lipid peroxidation, central mechanisms in brain injury.
In addition, even in doses below that which can cause obvious cell injury, mercury impairs the glutamate transport system, which in turn triggers excitotoxicity, a central mechanism in autism and other neurological disorders. Ironically, aluminum also paralyzes this system.
On page 228, we see another admission that the government has had no interest in demonstrating the safety of thimerosal-containing vaccines despite more than 2,000 articles showing harmful effects of mercury. Here we see a reference to the fact that the FDA "has a wonderful facility in Arkansas with hundreds of thousands of animals" available for any study needed to supply these answers on safety.
The big question to be asked: Why has the government ignored the need for research to answer these questions concerning thimerosal safety? You will recall, in the beginning, the participants of this conference complained that there were just so few studies or no studies concerning this "problem."
Junk Scientists
Again, on page 229, Dr. Brent rails about the lawsuit problem. He tells the others he has been involved in three lawsuits related to vaccine injuries leading to birth defects and concluded, "If you want to see junk science, look at those cases ... ." He then complains about the type of scientists testifying in these cases. He adds, "But the fact is those scientists are out there in the United States." In essence, he labels anyone who opposes the "official policy" on vaccines as a junk scientist.
We have seen previously in the discussion just who the "junk scientists" really are.
Knowing what they have found can cause them a great deal of problems he adds, "The medical/legal findings in this study, causal or not, are horrendous ... . If an allegation was made that a child's neurobehavioral findings were caused by thimerosal-containing vaccines, you could readily find a junk scientist who will support the claim with 'a reasonable degree of certainty'."
On
page 229, Dr. Brent then admits they are in a bad position because they
have no data for their defense. Now, who really are the junk scientists?
Dr. Meyers, on page 231, put it this way: "My own concern, and a couple of you said it, there is an association between vaccines and outcomes that worries both parents and pediatricians." He cites other possible connections to vaccine-related neurobehavioral and neurodevelopmental problems including the number of vaccines being given, the types of antigens being used and other vaccine additives.
Dr. Caserta tells the group he attended the aluminum conference the previous years and learned that often metals could act differently in biological systems than as an ion. This is interesting in the face of the finding that fluoride when combined to aluminum forms a compound that can destroy numerous hippocampal neurons at a concentration of 0.5 ppm in drinking water. It seems that aluminum readily combines with fluoride to form this toxic compound.
With more than 60 percent of communities having fluoridated, drinking water, this becomes a major concern.
It has also been learned that fluroaluminum compounds mimic the phosphate compound and can activate G-proteins. G-proteins play a major role in numerous biological systems, including endocrine, neurotransmitters and as cellular second messengers. Some of the glutamate receptors are operated by a G-protein mechanism.
Can You Keep a Secret?
Over the next 10-15 pages, they discuss how to control this information so that it will not get out and, if it does, how to control the damage. On page 248, Dr. Clements has this to say:
"But there is now the point at which the research results have to be handled, and even if this committee decides that there is no association and that information gets out, the work has been done and through the freedom of information that will be taken by others and will be used in other ways beyond the control of this group. And I am very concerned about that as I suspect that it is already too late to do anything regardless of any professional body and what they say."
In other words, he wants this information kept not only from the public but also from other scientists and pediatricians until they can be properly counseled. In the next statement, Dr. Clements spills the beans as to why he is determined that no outsider get hold of this damaging information.
"My mandate as I sit here in this group is to make sure at the end of the day that 100,000,000 are immunized with DTP, Hepatitis B and if possible Hib, this year, next year and for many years to come, and that will have to be with thimerosal-containing vaccines unless a miracle occurs and an alternative is found quickly and is tried and found to be safe."
This is one of the most shocking statements I have ever heard. In essence, he is saying, "I don't care if the vaccines are found to be harmful and destroying the development of children's brains, these vaccines will be given now and forever." His only concern by his own admission is to protect the vaccine program even if it is not safe. Dr. Brent refers to this as an "eloquent statement."

We, the People, are now the enemy (we have been for quite some time).

My God, Folks, what have we become ??? Have we not learned anything about life, living, and liberty in the last 5,000 years or so ??? Are we inherently this self-destructive ??? No, not all of us.
We must then get off our "butts" and go into action, my friends. The "sheeple" (the majority of a confused and dependent public) will jump on the bandwagon when their "faces is shoved squarely in IT", or when its "safe". I always know when it's flu season. First, the media begins its usual role as hysterical government press secretary, uncritically trumpeting the same cooked numbers about the coming flu epidemic. The steady drone of recent broadcasts, including one on NBC's Today Show (10/6/04), warn that the flu kills about 36,000 people every year in the United States. The broadcasts usually cite the CDC as the source of this huge number. This is borne out by the main CDC page, with its immediate link to flu information and statistics. It's a crock, a lie, and a sham; a conspiracy to generate fear and stampede people to use a vaccine of questionable effectiveness to the benefit of pro-immunization bureaucrats, and big pharma. Sounds harsh, but follow the math and the money.
A cursory glance at the most recent (2001) death statistics from the Data Highlights page posted on the CDC site, shows that Influenza and Pneumonia (International Cause of Death numbers J10 and J18) killed 62,034 people. Quick mental subtraction would tell you that just over half were killed by the flu, versus pneumonia, if the 36,000 number is correct. So far, the size of the flu epidemic seems plausible. Here's the link to the National Vital Statistics System page within the CDC site that has the Data Highlights and Full Reports.
This is important, because the Data Highlights page is just that, a single page highlight of all the various mortality stats gathered by the CDC. Now, let's dig into the more detailed reports. The "Deaths: Final Data for 2001" report is an 8MB PDF. Skip it unless you want all the charts detailing deaths by race, age, and ethnicity. The 2002 preliminary report contains the interesting parts of the 2001 final report, as well as data from 2002. The second search result for J10 (the mortality code for flu) brings us to page 16 of 48, which contains the breakout of flu and pneumonia. Total flu deaths for 2002: 753. Pneumonia accounted for the other 65,231 deaths. Scrolling to the right are the numbers for 2001. Again, total flu deaths were under one thousand, coming in at 257. That's right, less than a thousand people died of the flu in 2001 and 2002, according to the CDC's own numbers.
Searching around on the CDC website reveals several more pages that call into question the 36,000 deaths per year number. For example, this page dedicated to the 2003-04 season states that "152 influenza-associated deaths among children" occurred during the 2003-04 flu season, but carefully avoids answering its own question about the total number of dead in the 2003-2004 season. Instead, it goes on in serious sounding quais-scientific statistico blather: "During the 2003-04 season, the percentage of P & I-associated deaths was higher than the epidemic threshold for 9 consecutive weeks." Again, lumping pneumonia and flu deaths together, even though the CDC does not recognize the flu as one of the many causes of pneumonia.
Finally, the CDC's own "Flu Pandemics" page puts deaths in the United States from the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918-1919 at 500,000, Asian Flu pandemic of 1957-58 at 70,000, and the Hong Kong Flu pandemic of 1968-69 at 34,000. These are the three 20th century pandemics, and two of them killed close to what the CDC is now calling average. What's going on here?
How is it that the CDC could be off by two orders of magnitude between their own official mortality stats, and the press kit number of 36,000 deaths per year. Could it be that the CDC is somehow misleading the public about the relative dangers of the flu?
Here is a link to the CDC-AMA sponsored National Influenza Vaccination Summit for 2004. This is an invitation only conference hosted by the CDC and the American Medical Association. Luckily for the public, the speaker list, agenda, and presentations are posted online. The attendees list of this CDC-AMA sponsored event reads like a lobbying group for flu immunization. Of the 97 attendees, vaccine manufacturers CHIRON (10), Aventis-Pasteur (10), Medimmune (5), and Baxter Vaccines (4) were a full 29 strong. Medical Conglomerates Kaiser Permanente (6) and McKesson (3) rounded out the big corporate influence cabal. The CDC sent 39 attendees and the AMA (proper, not members) had 4. The remainder of the attendees were a mix of state and local health departments (e.g. Rhode Island Medical Society), smaller pharma companies (e.g. Solvay Pharmaceuticals), and pro-immunization organizations (e.g. Sabin Vaccine Institute).
And did these learned scholars of immunology, virology, and general public health debate the merits of vaccinating against a virus that kills less than 1,000 people in most years? Perhaps they were celebrating the fact that only a few hundred died from the flu, thanks to their vaccines? Not exactly. The manufacture, distribution, and administration of flu vaccine is a cash cow, worth several hundred million dollars a year. Here's a quote from CHIRON CORP's 2003 Annual Report: "Sales of our flu vaccines were $332.4 million, $90.0 million and $74.7 million in 2003, 2002 and 2001, respectively." Those numbers represent just the manufacture of flu vaccine, from one company, not including any of the profits from the distribution, or administration of the vaccine.
Buried in the speakers presentations from the conference are some interesting stats. It turns out that 147 children under 18 died of the flu in the 2003–04 season. Of those, 101 reported whether or not the child received the flu vaccine. Of those, 22 had received at least one flu shot, and 4 had received multiple flu shots. That puts the percentage of immunized children that died at just under 22% of all children (page 10 of 23, Cochi Presentation.) Further in the report we learn that the CDC's own studies show they believe the flu vaccine to be only 16%-63% effective against the flu, while a French report shows 61% effectiveness against influenza-like-illness (without confirming that it's actually the flu). According to a Harvard study, (Nowak presentation, page 26), only 22% of parents of children 6–23 months had them immunized, and only 30% of children under 18 were immunized. Now, I'm no Dr. John Lott when it comes to statistics, but if the ratio of immunized to non-immunized children in the total population (22%–30%) is nearly identical to the immunized to non-immunized ratio of children in an admittedly small sample of children that died (22%), the case could be made that the flu vaccine is largely worthless.
In other words, the best case these needle-happy pro-flu vaccinators can mount shows that their immunization program would work, maybe, just over half the time, but some simple number crunching of our own shows that its probably much less than that. The coup de grace' comes from one of the CDC's own, Glen Nowak, PhD., in a presentation titled Planning for the 2004-5 Vaccination Season: A Communication Situation Analysis" the good doctor lays out a media manipulation campaign that would make Goebbels proud. Pages 27 on detail a literal "7 Step Recipe" that the CDC will use, in conjunction with the virus makers, to "(Frame)... the flu season in terms that motivate behavior (e.g., as very severe, more severe than last or past years, deadly)".
To summarize thus far:
At this point, some may think, "Hey, it might be worth getting, just as a preventative measure. Sort of like throwing a little salt over your shoulder, what can it hurt?" Plenty. The good Dr. Donald Miller, cardiac surgeon and Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, recently did an article about the dangers of mercury in vaccines and amalgam fillings. The CDC has a position on Thimerosal (methyl mercury based preservative) in flu vaccines posted to its website. Without admitting that Thimerosal might be responsible for the epidemics of autism, Alzheimer's, and ADD in this country, the CDC gives us a sop about taking it out or removing it. Reading the fine print, however, tells us: "the majority of influenza vaccines distributed in the United States currently contain Thimerosal as a preservative." Furthermore, in a bit of regulatory trickery, the FDA is letting smaller amounts go undisclosed : "..some contain only trace amounts of Thimerosal and are considered by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be preservative-free." In other words, even if you ask to see the vaccine label, check for Thimerosal, and get a warm fuzzy feeling about the shot being labeled "Thimerosal free," thanks to the FDA's accommodation of drug manufacturers, it could still contain mercury.
When the major manufacturers of flu vaccine get together with the CDC in a closed door summit with the sole purpose of figuring out how to stick 185 million doses of a questionable vaccine into a population in which less than 1,000 people a year die, what should we call it? Yes, Virginia, it is a conspiracy. Luckily the conspirators are foolish enough to believe that their website is safely hidden amidst all the chaff of the Internet, or else, are so brazen in their contempt for the general population that they think we can't do a little math and conclude "The vaccine doesn't work, and the flu is a flim-flam!"
Eventually, there will be another pandemic of the flu, and thousands will die. The CDC should concentrate on finding ways to lower the spread, working alternatives to vaccines, and ways to minimizing the severity of the flu, rather than pumping out fake numbers, creating an aura of fear and hysteria, and shilling for profits to huge pharma companies.
